The Tribe Cats II

Prologue

            Lionkit tackled Morningkit, as a result Morningkit retaliated by swiping at his nose. Their mothers watched them, bracing themselves against the cold Mountain Tribe wind. None of the mothers were used to this, Mistyspirit came from the River Tribe, Sandspirit from the Moor Tribe. They and their kits were part of a group of cats that had been cat-napped in battle. The queens all knew that when the kits were old enough they would all escape. Now, though the kits were getting to the age were escaping would be possible. The only problem was friendships like this. Mistyspirit had a feeling that Lionkit would not like the idea of leaving his good friend. Despite all this, the queens knew, they knew in their hearts that soon they would be going home.

            It was a moonless night, cold too. If you had been watching Mountain Tribe camp you would have seen black shapes, big and small, moving in the darkness. The shapes seemed to be moving in a sort-of line. Two shapes at the head of this "line" stopped suddenly. If you had been listening too, then you would have heard the rustle of pelts as all of the other shapes stopped. Slowly the prosession began to inch forward once-more. Eventually the line reached the opening of the camp and as it did the cats at the front, after all by now you would have guessed that the shapes were cats, began to run. And with that the rest of the line followed suit. Soon the line of cats reached a clearing. "We're almost out!" mewed a grey-white she-cat, this perticular she-cat was Mistystar of River Tribe. "Is everyone here?" called a light ginger she-cat softly, this she-cat was Sandstorm of Moor Tribe. These two cats had been at the front of the line, since they were the only Tribe leaders. "We're here!" a number of the cats replied. At that call the cats broke free of the clearing and raced toward the border. The cats seperated, running in the direction of their Tribe. A few stopped, to give final farewells to friends in other Tribes, or to meet up with other cats in their Tribe. Mistystar and Sandstorm may have run off in different directions, but their fates now were intertwined. But they didn't know that. Only the Spirit Tribe, who watched all of the living Tribe Cats knew. But they couldn't and wouldn't tell them, they would only watch and wait.
