In the beginning there were others. Creatures just like us as well as multitudes of creatures much different. As time went on they became more advanced, learning and inventing. It is said that they even were able to invent something that would get them over the great water to lands beyond. The beings not of this world, the Cats Almighty as we call them, who had created these creatures, were very proud and they granted their children with gifts and wealth in the form of more knowledge. With these blessings the creatures became great and prosperous. But in all their newfound glory they forgot what was important. They became greedy and did not thank the Cats Almighty for all they had given them. At first the great beings were forgiving, knowing that these creatures they had created were, unlike them, weak and forgetful. But the lack of respect continued. The Cats Almighty became angry with their children. So, the gods had a council to decide what to do. The more violent ones wanted to destroy and massacre the creatures while the ones who were kind and light wanted to warn the creatures, send in a small plague or disaster to prove they had done something wrong and then let it go. The argument when on and on until finally a tom from the dark side and a she cat from the light stepped forward and made the decision. There would be 13 warnings, if they weren't heeded then the gods would wipe clean the earth and begin again. Both light and dark agreed and so the warnings were sent. The first was divine, sent by the light. All of the creatures received a dream from whatever godly being they worshipped telling them about their wrongdoing. Nothing happened. All the other warnings seemed to be disregarded as well. Finally the leaders of the Cats Almighty, the first tom and she-cat that had stepped forward, called for the end. The 13th warning had passed unnoticed by the children. But they were wrong. All of the warnings were heeded but change and repent the creatures did not. The night after the last warning the leaders of the creatures revolted, attacking the gods’ home. Of course they were defeated but all of the Cats Almighty, even the light, were angered now. Plagues were sent, libraries of knowledge caught on fire, and monsters of the dark roamed the streets. Finally, near the very end, the gods themselves would visit the earth and destroy what they could. One day on one of these last raids the daughter of the leaders of the gods discovered a small orphanage. Inside a group of four kittens both old and young huddled together in prayer. At the sight she knew that the killing had to be stopped or at least the innocent saved. She and the four journeyed back to the home of Cats Almighty and she presented them before her parents. She told them of where had found them and what they had been doing. Her father, the embodiment of darkness, said that he would save them but all of the other would go. “We made a promise to the dark,” he told her, “not that you would remember it.” Her mother, light to core, agreed with her mate “the kittens will be saved but the other will go,” but she added, “These kittens will be the beginning of the new world. They will be the new rulers.” The king of darkness agreed and the end came.
Dawn broke for the first time on the new world. Things were created again and life prevailed once more. This time the creatures, the new children, were separated. The gods knew that one day maybe they would discover each other but not for a long time. In that time they knew that they would be able to come up with a plan of how to handle the creatures. The kittens were placed in a beautiful world, one lush with forests, deserts, and mountains. But, though they didn’t really think of it, they were boxed in. Obstacles, barriers, to keep the inhabitants in, surrounded the beautiful new realm. On the east and west side there was water and 2 giant deserts, hot in the south, cold in the north. Despite, they were a happy and new life flourished.
